Sad, Sad State of Affairs

Two quick things:

This clip from The Daily Show about the hearing on the ban on gays in the military would be hilarious, except it's true...Anyone ever hear of Alexander the Great?

Hillary Clinton has a guest post up at RH Reality Check about the Bush Administration's attempt to label common methods of birth control, such as birth control pills, IUDs and emergency contraception as abortion, which would allow health care providers to refuse to provide these services to women. Wake up people, I'm not being paranoid. Check out this excerpt:

The regulations could even invalidate state laws that currently ensure access to contraception for many Americans. In fact, they describe New York and California's laws requiring prescription drug insurance plans to provide coverage for contraceptives as part of "the problem." These rules would even interfere with New York State law that ensures survivors of sexual assault and rape receive emergency contraception in hospital emergency rooms.

This is just so ridiculous....
I'm glad I'm in the UK, I have to say.
If the Bush administration want to play silly buggers with word games, then so can we.

They want to label 'birthcontrol' as being equivilant to abortion?

Lets take a leaf out of Sarah Haskins birthcontrol Target Women video ;-)

I'd say lets have 'birthcontrol' labelled as 'period regulators' or 'period minimizer'.

Nothing to do with preventing babies ;-)
